My husband and I just rented an RV to try it out. Well, that was enough to convince us to buy our own C class. Problem is that Larry uses a wheelchair as a Polio survivor so we need to find an RV that has a lift or in which a lift can be installed. A wider doorway or potential for a wider door is needed. Any ideas about where we should look or what make we should consider?
Thanks, Sharon

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sounds like there are some exciting times ahead. Hopefully one of our members with experience in this area will be along with advice soon.
Best of luck...
Rick

Hi, welcome to the forum. Have you talked to a RV dealer to see if they would have this info for you? Sorry I am of no help on this, but I am sure someone will help you on here. Enjoy your travels

Welcome to the family.
Try and call the ADA ( http://www.ada.gov/)and see if they know of a company that will build one.
I saw one the other day on a new Winnie that the wheelchair rolled onto, then it raised to the door and turned into the door, level with the RV floor.
I can only imagine what the whole set up cost.
Good Luck and happy travels.

Hi Sharon, I too am a polio survivor. I still wear leg braces and can get up the steps into motorhome.
I do know that Winnebago make speciality vehicles including ones specifically designed for wheelchair accessibility.

I hope this helps or at least gives you some ideas.

Thanks for the lead but I think that would be too big for us. 28-30' RV is what we r thinking for now.

These people build from new Wheelchair accessible motorhomes Too bad they are so far from you.
If you contact 27' Class C Motorhome with a slide out and wheelchair accessible | Canada Motorhome Rentals they can tell you if they have a used unit for sale or at least who modifies their units for them. I know both links are miles from you but if you're successful it would make an interesting road trip driving home.
Lots of luck in you quest.
