I can't recall having an issue on the road with a trucker in my MANY decades of driving...

now cars that cut me off and I have to test my brakes ?!? that's for another thread

I always flash my lights when trucks clear me so they know they can get over and for the most part get a thank you flash back...
(the fact that my doing that has some selfish motive to it too doesn't make it any less nice !! (the sooner they get in front the less of a parachute drag I have out of the 5er for a few minutes

)

100% of the time truckers are people. Almost 100% of people are unpredictable. Most of the time the truckers I encounter on the road, in rest areas, truck stops and restaurants are friendly and courteous. Which is to say, those I encounter are more predictable than non truckers, especially when it comes to road manners. Cars today handle so well, accelerate and stop so quickly, many drivers seem to think they are driving a race car. They whip in and out of lanes, race ahead, slam on brakes, and fall behind, and repeat the scenario over and over again. Trucks and Motorhomes perform similarly and are much more predictable on the highway than the wanna be race car driver. Give me a road full of truckers any day. I'll find my place among them and settle in for the drive. I'll flash them if it's clear they're going to pull back in to the lane - but some times they're rolling on and I don't. I've been flashed and not. I don't think about it one way or the other. The ICC switch is there to use like other convenience switches. Use it when you want to and the truckers can do the same.
