Selling a motor home

I am hoping for thoughts on how and where to list a motor home for sale. I have a low mileage 2011 and tried Craig's list and a few other places but no real results.

First question is what is your price? Use the NADA and don't list options, you're going to need to be somewhere between low and average to get any interest. The problem with newer RV's is many people bought them new and owe way more on them then they are worth. I buy one at the beginning of the season and sell it at the end almost every year and only use craigslist. If you're getting no interest you're probably over priced. Search the net for others like yours and see how they are priced, try and find a couple that have actually sold, a lot of times what they are listed for and what they sell for are a long ways apart. You'll also want to multi list it, that means not only list it in the town you live but a couple of major ones near your area.

I would list it on RVTrader.com, Craigslist, and the free Classifieds here on IRV2! Be prepared for the scam offers on Craigslist.

I would specify in the ads "I can only accept a transfer of funds between your bank and mine, no exceptions! "

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Sold mine on Craigslist. We staged it. lot of new photos, a simple list of features, and the asking price.

Sold in three weeks. Actually, sold twice in three weeks. The first buyer got cold feet and backed out.

After months of looking, I just bought a coach last week. I started looking at Ebay, Craigslist, and RV Trader. As time went on, I found myself looking more and more at RV Trader. We finally found our coach at RV Trader.

Sold a toad here on iRV2 Classifieds a month or so ago.
Just took a deposit on 2003 MH today that was a (free) RVT.Com lead

List on as many places as you can find...

iRV2.com Classifieds free

RVTrader.com - paid ads but several options and not all that expensive

RVT.com - free ad option

Craigslist - free

Above helpful to do your research re: pricing...don't count on getting NADA retail or you will likely not get many inquiries (IMO) Do searches for same model +/- 1 yr to get a good $range.

I say avoid any RV For Sale websites other than above - they will call you to get you to sign up for a $200 ad - scam in my opinion

Some consignments may be OK but I'd investigate and be careful
Camping World may also call / email trying to get the listing (they did w/ me)

We bought ours from a dealer on consignment. Price was some $40,000 under NADA and they gave us more for our trade than NADA showed.
Selling it yourself is sometimes tough. Personally I wouldn't do it.
