Service Agreement Question
anyone commend buying a service agreement for 5 yrs.

Generally I would recommend against doing that, especially for a trailer or a gas chassis motorhome. Maybe for a late model diesel pusher, though even there I would suggest a high deductible plan just to help with high dollar repairs.

I have one for peace of mind. I am not the most mechanically inclined person, and it makes me comfortable to know I have it if I ever need it. YMMV.

Be sure to read the fine print and understand what exactly is covered. Many of those agreements do not cover what the buyer thinks they cover.

Your new TT has lots of coverage for 1-2-3 years. Wait and see. Do your homework in the interval. Do a search on this site. As post #4 says.....get a sample contract and read every word. Twice.

DW is the nervous type so we tend toward EWs. On our previous 2005 DP we experienced a power surge he to a faulty power cord which wasn't covered by the regular warranty. EW came through. Replaced the microwave, TV, ATS (3 times), step motor. Essentially everything electronic. Got a "deal" on a policy for our 2014 Winnebago. Is paying off again. Pretty sure we have spent more on warranties over the decades than repairs would have been but, no spikes in spending. Makes budgeting easier.

If you can't fix "diddley" buy a service contract. Otherwise a waste of money.

My DW generally likes them; I don't. So, we generally get what she wants except this last time when she came to the light side on the Montana.
