Shock resitance, compression vs expanded.

I just bought new shocks for motor home. There's about 50 % less resistance when I compress the shock as compared to when I extend (pull up) on the shock.

Hope I said that right. It's been a while since I replaced tube shocks. May be that's normal

What brand? Some makers put a lot on compression and much less on rebound and others go the opposite way.

Actually, that's about right. You want the wheel to move easily when you hit a bump and return at a more controlled rate. That keeps the unit from continuing to bounce. Some chasis tuners prefer to have almost no compression damping. The shock probably has some dynamic damping that kicks in as the response speeds go up.
Anyway,it's probably going to be a big help on the road.
