Shopping for Insurance

I'm in NJ and have had American Modern Home Ins. on the RV but now they won't renew after April. Anyone shop around lately? I read Progressive is ok on price until you try to file a claim.

Thanks, Tim

Lots of material available here on insurance so use our search feature and you'll get a lot of info.

We've been with Progressive for 7 years. As many do, they have raised my rates each year. I did have a claim two years ago. I had a provision in my policy which forgives the first accident without rate increase and forgives the deductible after five years. They honored this provision.

If I were going to be keeping our coach I would probably shop around for new coverage since it really seems that most companies tend to get you in at a low rate and then keep increasing.

We have Progressive on the RV (full timers), car and Harley.
A few years ago a deer ran a stop sign and ran right into Thom on the bike. They came out and went over the bike with a fine tooth comb to find everything that needed replacing. We were able to take to the shop we wanted to to get the work done. They had checks in their hands and our hands for other things that got messed up, ie boots, chaps, gloves, etc. Rates did not increase at all, as a matter of fact they've gone down on the bike every year.

We have Progressive on our 31' Flagstaff. Back in November we had a power surge go through our TT and fired $2500 worth of electrical and electronics stuff. We took it to our choice of repair shop, they paid the bill minus our deductible. The claims people were very kind and easy to work with. Just got my new policy for the year it only went up $45. We are very pleased with Progressive.
