I made the mistake of taking DW to the local RV parts store yesterday. What would have taken less then 5 minutes for me to pick up a couple plumbing parts wound up taking over two hours looking at all the cute "Thingies" that she wants for the MH. While I do appreciate her being interested in making it "cute" I'm trying to get the point across that we right now at this point in time have the "needs" and later we can get the "wants" Either way she picked out a cute string of christmas lights for the awning which we don't yet have. Come on guys am I alone in this? And gals if your reading then you've already probably been down this road so your advice is sorely needed.

So, what you define as "wants" may be "needs" to her. We can assume she is an adult human being and can make her own decisions. I learned a long time ago, when a guy starts telling his girl what she can and cannot buy, it never turns out pretty and the guy always loses.

Ain't that the truth. She's my second wife and typically hates shopping. But right now she's on ebay comparing prices to items she liked at the RV parts store. I have a feeling debit card is fixing to be used soon. Oh well she's helped us get it to this point.

In my experience I'd rather have her involved in buying that sort of thing because it creates an "ownership" feeling in that the RV stops being solely your responsibility to accesorize and maintain and becomes a team effort.

Just remember the old saying, "when mama ain't happy, nobodies happy"
after 41 years, that statement has been driven home for a long time, lol.

hehehehe
next time
stop at lowes, suggest she wait in the car/truck because you just need to run in and get a doohiky
then take a leisurely stroll through the store, stopping to pick up and look at all the pretty tools and led patio lights

then about an hr later, return to said vehicle with the doohiky

learned long ago.......if shes in a shopping mood, i find a bench and park it a while..... "wait'n on a woman" its just life, enjoy it to its fullest

Well, speaking as a "DW", I have to say that we handle our motorhome pretty much like the sticks-n-bricks. I clean, cook and decorate; he's the handyman and chauffeur. (And tell your wife to be sure to check Amazon, they can beat CW almost every time. )

I won't allow anything "cute" in or on our car, but I told my wife that those rules don't apply to our MH. She can do whatever she wants to make it a compfy as she needs.
