Shore power and generator power issue

Info about motor home

2001 Allegro Bus
330 cat diesel pusher
7.5 onan
Freedom 458 inverter/charger

I use this coach to pull race cars with and go racing all over. Went to a race this weekend. I unplugged the shore power which was working fine. cranked the generator with no problems and went racing. Came back home with no problems.
Killed generator and went to bed. Next day I went to plug it in and did not get electricity inside. Upon diagnosing, I have power going into surge protector, i have power out of surge protector to the change over box. Change over box is working correctly switching from shore power to generator. Checked power for both and solenoids did make and switch when generator is cranked and shore power unplugged. My breaker box is outside. I have power to the breaker box and out of every breaker in the panel. with no power inside the coach.

After further investigation when I turn the inverter on everything works. So my theory is that there is a switch somewhere to switch power from inverter to shore/generator. I have looked everywhere I know to look with no luck on finding such switch. I have the electrical schematics but do not see any type switch.

I have checked all 12 vlt solenoids that are in the inverter compartment. everything is working properly there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your inverter has an internal transfer switch, which utilizes shore power input when available and changes to battery/inverter when not. It could be failing, but that won't affect every 20v circuit in the coach, e.g. the air conditioners should still work and the water heater should run in electric mode. They are not powered through the inverter. Check those to be sure the inverter is the problem.

You were right about having power to the ac. Checked the power wire feeding the inverter and I had 120 into unit but nothing coming out. I have pulled the inverter out and apart checked function of the circuit breakers and checked all wiring connections. I found the switching board and got it pulled out of the inverter. Do you have any advice on where to get parts for this unit.

Thank you for the information
