Shoreline power reel

Having problem with power reel. In some positions of rotations one side of the 240 volt power is cut out. If I pull cord out more it works! How hard is it to dismantle these and replace the brushes?

Well I would say something isn't touching in there. Bad news! When I got one out of service that the owner took off without unpluging, and wrecked it, I took it apart to fix. The Co. didn't sell replacement parts, some liabelity BS, so I had to McGiver it and I got it working. Nothing ventured nothing gained so my suggestion being take it apart and see if you can see the problem, then try the Mfg for parts, if that dosn't work see if you can Mcgiver it. Look up RV'ER in the dictionary, "One who tinkers" A new one is a small bank loan. Good luck

One company told me the reel is not repairable even though I know someone else repaired one. Anyway I removed it today and put in a junction box and have good power now!
