Years ago I had a CB radio in my truck and it helped me avoid an accident. A trucker told us about a deer a short distance ahead on the road. I was able to slow down and avoid the dear.

Does it make sense to have one these days? When I had my last one, it seemed everyone had one.

I bought and installed one last year in the used MH I bought for two reasons: There was a hookup and space for one, and I use it when delayed in traffic to talk with others to find out why.

When I was towing my Jeep with a motorhome with no rear vision camera, a trucker called on the CB and said " did you know your Jeep is on fire?" That was handy.

I've always traveled with a CB radio. I monitor channel 19. Beside being both annoying and entertaining it has saved from many a traffic jam. I wouldn't want to travel without it. (or my GPS)

They can be annoying. Is the language used on them cleaned up lately? We went on a trip with someone who had one a couple of years ago and had to cut it off with the kids in thecar.

If you're not willing to put up with the language then you'd better not have a CB. I don't believe anything has happened over the years to the language except maybe get worse. I do think its nice to have one on in case something is wrong with your rig as some trucker will probably tell you about it.

Some CB's come with a head set input that way the kids have clean sailing.

For the cheap cost of a CB "why not" when you run into a traffic tie up its worth it....
