Show "Home State"

It sure would be nice if everyone listed their "home State" so we would know where they are when they say they had 5 inches of snow, or it 40 below, or... you get my meaning >>> They show their "user name', a pic of their unit, dogs, cats ,,etc,, etc, but not all show their State.

I, agree 100% , and would add, fill out a signature line , with RV info , particularly the year, as an aid to those trying to help.

Some do. Some do not for security reasons. It's the member's choice what to display to the www.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Most members list their home state in their public profile, it's just a couple clicks away from here. Lori is right, some prefer to err on the side of safety. It's really easy for a site visitor to glean your information and when you say you will be/are traveling(away from home).

While I agree with not putting everything from your life out on the web, when your not using your real name as a member here in the forums, I can't see a problem listing your home town and state.
Anyone who thinks there may be a problem; here ; must be unaware of the personal info that's already out there on the web about them.
Scam artists from Spain, have access to enough personal info about me , to offer to declare me a relative of a dead possible distant great uncle for my share of his $5.6m estate, and mail that offer to my S&B.
With phone books and reverse number listings available online , anyone you phone, that has call display can get your address.

I understand there are reasons for not listing state, or town. But for those that have no apprehensions, it would be nice. Especially when we talk about weather.

Agreed. You have to be a little careful about stuff but, no use getting carried away with it.

It's like getting hit by lightning. Not standing in the middle of a field during a lightning storm holding a metal rod in the air is common since.

But, hiding in your home basement every time is gets a little cloudy is overkill.

Our name is disguised in our screen name. KS for Kansas and CRUDE as I can be crude, some would say, and we are in the crude oil business. Listed in the location we state, Land of Oz, as in Toto I don't think we're in Kansas anymore and there's no place like home.
