On our 1985 Georgie Boy, the engine cover (DOGHOUSE) is just flat. I want to get or make a console to attach so my drinks are close at hand. Any of you have something that works well and is not to obtrusive and allows access of the front seats easily?????

My solution was not as elegant as W4MBG, but very functional.
I gave up on using the dog house as a cup holder, I kept having to take my eyes off the road to get my drink I went to wally's and bought two cheapo cup holders. I removed the upper piece that allows it to attach to a window and chucked it. Ran 2 drywall screws to mount them to the trim panels. Total investment $2.10

just gotta watch out for the pointy tips on those 3" drywall screws

btw, there is a large storage box under the cup holder section of my doghouse mod. you can not see it in the pics, but it is as wide as the fold-down table section, and almost as tall.

Hey John,
I'm curious... In that photo of the passenger side cup holder, Is that a world globe pillow on the dash? Never seen one of those before. You use that instead of a dash mounted GPS? :-)

as W4MBG , only I installed small lip around the edge, to prevent anything from sliding off.
I didn't have to worry about rapid acceleration , just the corners,
I have worn more than one cup of coffee in the AM.

yeah, i still have some trim work to do on it, including a lip around the table part. other than that, the cups/cans stay in their holes quite well.

That's DW's pillow for laying on the dash when we are somewhere really cool
Anyone care to guess where we are?

Looks very Southwesterny.

My guess is AZ.

(BTW, my g/f wouldn't be able to pose on the dash like your DW. Our Miniature Schnauzers would have a fit.)

Too bad you don't have the Good Sam Logo somewhere in the pic!
