Shurflow Water Pump Question

I have a 2001 Winnebago Adventurer, the water pump is leaking. The numbers I have on my pump are 2088-404-144.
I've searched eBay and Amazon for a new replacement and find similar numbers but wonder how much difference there are in the model numbers. Somebody educate me. Do I need the exact numbers I have or is their a suitable replacement? What difference will it make?

Generally.... pumps of the same manufacturer have the same pattern where and how they mount.... the four mounting holes. However if your get, lets say a Jabsco or a flowjet... the mounting holes might be different as well as the hose connections.

I buy lots of pumps for my boat... saltwater eats them up every 2-3 yrs. I prefer Shurflo with extended warranties

BlunerBill-

You and "CWJK55" have asked the same question- here's his thread. My answer is in post #3 there.

Shurflo Classic Series (2088 models -- 3 gpm/45 psi ) were discontinued years ago so any 2088 pump or parts you find for sale will be what is called 'NOS' (new old stock) Any 2088-403s will only be 2.3 gpm------your 404 is 3 gpm

Shurflo replacement pump is either the Revolution 4008 (3 gpm/55 psi) OR the High Flow 4048 (4 gpm/55 psi)

Other pumps can be used......just a matter of mounting/connecting wiring--plumbing
