In some cases it may mean your s/w/e are on both curbside and driver side. In other instances you could be sharing a pedestal et al with your neighbor.

Not sure this is the definition you mention but there are some camp grounds that offer a slot where two units can park door to door (side by side) therefore each would have their hoop-ups on "back" side and share "patio area". b

It's great when....

It's great when you have good neighbors.

Not so much when they're not.

One of the reasons I like to tour in an RV is that if you don't like your neighbors, you can move your house.

Some times, side by side has the utilities So that one faces one way and the other RV the other direction. This lets you have door to door with a friend.

It means side by side; kudos to Chillybilly for the clever understatement.

Most RV parks are side by side what I call chevron style. Since the particular parks make a point of making a point well then it means more than traditional I suppose.

The quickest way would be to call the RV park that specifies this "style" and ask. When you do report it here for all to know.

There is a really nice RV park in Paso Robles California really upscale which we enjoy. However a lot of their sites share a small grassy area by parking the units with the doors opposing, one heads in one direction the other the opposite direction (side by side?).

I do not like the sites, basically someone you have never met will be standing next to you while you BBQ, their table next to yours while you eat or lounge around and it is not always a pleasant situation.

I am friendly and cordial I just do not like to be forced to be friendly and cordial.

The Dolphin Club stays at that Paso Robles park often. We stay in the same area, so we know the people we face. If you are there on your own they do have spaces that are not parked door to door.

Lake Skinner near Temecula CA has side by side (awning to awning) sites. My son has a RV as well and we like to go there for this setup. As others have commented, with strangers, not so much.

Usually "Side by side" means something like this
RV #1---->
. . . Pole
<----RV #2

However it can mean other things as well.

Pole is where you find water, sewer and electric

Now.. On the plus side this means when you sit on your "Patio" under your awning at your picnic table you are NOT looking at your neighbor's sewer hookup.

I'll leave others to discuss the minus side.

Glenn

Of course, and we have learned to request our site after being there at a very full time and being put in one of their, what, "side by sides"?

I certainly would not want to discourage any one from going there it is a nice park and a great part of the country. A lot of their sites are tradition, some have great views and a lot accommodate clubs as you suggest.
