Skylight replacement

I own a 2006 Revolution LE and noticed the shower skylight is cracked and was leaking. I removed the inner trim and noticed the outside plastic does not fit the hole cut out well. The hole seams to be a bit too big. Its sealed well on the edges and that's not a leak issue.
My question is why cant I get my friend at a glass company to make me a flat glass to put in place of the plastic outer bubble. I could get a tempered thermopane tinted low e glass and remove the inner plastic on the trim.
Anyone ever go this route ?

First, that plastic bubble is mounted to the outside with no need to remove any trim on the inside. There will be lots of Lap Sealant covering a flange around the cover with screws under the sealant.

Glass is not used first because of the bubble shape to allow the rain water to drain off and second when hit by debris, the plastic is more durable. You can order tinted replacement covers serving the same purpose.

I ordered a Lexan version for our last 5er from here: EZ Tops World Wide manufacture acrylic and Lexan skylights and domes.. Great size choices, several colors, clear, smoke bronze, decent price and shipping costs. They will take at least 3 weeks to get it to you. Oh, and our new 5er needs one too (crappy installation by the factory - stress cracked across a corner) and it will also be ordered from here as well as the Keystone replacement part would be the same easily broken acrylic.

Skylight in a Revolution

I have a 2007 Revolution 40E (bath and 1/2) that had the same problem. I couldn't find an aftermarket one that would be the exact replacement so I reluctantly called American Coach for a cost from them. I was surprised to find they were lower than some of the others and it was a perfect fit!. I think the delivered cost was about $100. I now use 303 Protectant (?) to increase its life.
