Skylink Alarm SC-1000 Work with VoIP?

Hi everybody, the newb is back.

After 3 nights on the road with my sister, we decided an added layer of security would make us rest easier.

The Skylink looks really good, but having a phone line is obviously an issue. When I'm parked at home I have constant wifi and on the road I have a hotspot if needed but can't locate any info on whether this unit works without a real land line.

You folks are awesome, thank you all.

You might want to check out security systems that use a built in cellular connection. One is SimpleSafe.

Say, that might be the ticket. Probably just having a loud early warning device without any connectivity at all would work for our purposes. That alarm noise alone would deter most criminals, I'd think.

I'm wondering where you stay that you have such security concerns? Most RV parks and campgrounds are some of the safest places one can be. In more than 35 years of RV use I have never had any need for such a system, while traveling.

Awww, thanks for asking, that's kind of you. I won't make a habit of sleeping in parking lots, I hope, but we had a blowout and spent the night in a tire store parking lot while they got the tires. They weren't stock.

I would like to have the security, though. I never know where I may end up.
