Slide Out Creep!!??

Recently bought a 2007 Bounder Classic 32W. Just started noticing that the living room slide out (driver's side) creeps out while driving. Haven't been on any long trips yet, but creeps out maybe 3/4 inch in 25 miles from storage to dealer. Have extended warranty, so dealer will fix (certainly), but wondered if this was common? Thanks to all! Regards,

Ken

Welcome to irv2. There is a brake on the slideout motor that has slipped. Here is a link to power gear tech doc that explains it further.

Do you not have/use the slideout lock bars that are
on most motorhomes.

Thanks macandphyl! Haven't seen any slide out lock bars! Will look closer next time at the coach! But the sides are pretty smooth… can't imagine where they'd be! Also, dealer never pointed out on walk around...

If you have the slideout locking bars, they are used on the inside.
When the slides are in, they span the gap from the slide to
the wall and prevent the slide from extending outward.
Here is a link to a good visual

good luck.

As Clifftall mentioned, if it is electric actuated slide as opposed to hydraulic, it is an internal brake or lock in the motor.

It happened to us when we first had the camper. Dealer replaced the entire motor under warranty. No trouble in 7 years since.

Mine used to creep out about a half inch. That was when I was stopping bringing it in as soon as the slide makes contact with the motorhome. I started holding the button an extra half second or so until the motor starts to struggle and it hasn't crept out since. I guess, although it was flush and sealed, it just wasn't in there enough when I was stopping it before.

After retracting your slide out fully, release the switch, hit it again. It should lock.
