Slide out issues
Do slide out motors get weak or just go out. Driver side slide goes out easy but struggles to come back in.

Hi and Welcome!
You MAY have weak house batteries. If you have used your house batteries at a camping spot without sufficiently recharging them, they may have lost enough charge between slide-out deployment and retraction to make the problem you describe.

I too would suspect low batteries. Your slide may be designed in such a way that there is less load one way. Be sure you keep them lubed regularly! Enjoy the forum!

Most likely battery voltage, but could be an adjustment is needed.

I had a situation last year using a six month old trailer where the slide worked well to extend but very slow to retract and eventually one end of the slide would lag behind the other so it would close one side faster than the other. At first the problem showed up on house power but after a week or two it also happened on shore power,
Problem in the end was a failing motor.
My lesson was to learn how to disengage the motor so I could hand push the slide in then re-engage so it did not extend while towing, all a good lesson but not well received as the timing of the failure was in the middle of the longest trip we had ever done,

Welcome Aboard....Could be a battery issue, if you ave a MH try starting the engine and see if that helps. If you have a 5ver of TT charge you battery and see if that helps...

Welcome to irv2.
If your batteries are new some controls have a pot on them to increase the current to motor so it can pull in your slide. Its also necessary to make sure the connections to motor and grounds are good clean tight connections to chassis frame for battery cable and also from ground buss of fuse panel. Any pot adjustment would be only in small increments so you do no damage to slide.

I had that problem on a fiver. It needed to be adjusted so it tracked right. I think the biggest problem was the motor wasn't big enough for the size of the slide.
On my coach I have now I had a similar problem and it was the switch. Since they are a switch that works both ways one side can go bad and the other works. I didn't think that was the problem but I changed the switch and it worked. That was after a few other parts I didn't need. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
