Slide Out Problems

Just got home from Arizona, what a great trip.Started cleaning our 2004 Fleetwood Bounder and found out that the bedroom slide all of a sudden will not come out. It will move about an inch and stop. Any one with any idea's as to why? it was working fine untill we got home. Thank goodness we got home first. Is the motor for this under the bed, and how hard is it to get to? Thanks for any help!

You might start by checking to see if anything as fallen on the floor & has the slide jammed that is stopping it from moving more than an inch or so.

The general troubleshooting steps are:
1. Make sure you have the proper voltage to the controller.
2. Check for status lights on the controller
3. Do you hear any sound from the motors, do they buzz or make any sound.
4. If there is no sound/movement at all, it is probably electrical or controller.
5. If you have two slides, swap the controllers
6. If the motors try to move, it might be mechanical (jammed)

Try adjusting your slide controller box. They can come out of adjustment just by normal vibration. On mine they are located in the storage compartment in front of the passenger side rear tires, mounted on the wall of the compartment. This happened to us and it just took a real slight turn on the adjustment and the slide has worked fine since.

Check to see if you have a shear pin.
Mine is located near the motor.
Just a thought
