i have a rule to live by
if we are going to be away over 1 day
then they all come in,
less chance of severe weather blowing rain in
limits ingress of BUGS
saves the slide out toppers from texas wind and hail storms

So basically the only advantage to leaving them out is reduced wear on the slide motors and seals. The risk though is a possible water leak, wind damage to toppers, and a better change of getting a critter or insects inside.
Sounds like leaving them out just isn't worth it. Still surprised how many I see around here stored for the winter with slides out. Thanks for all the replies tho.

the wife and i have put our slides in twicr in the laast 7 years only to switch seasonal campgrounds other wise we leave them out all year long when we have run them in and out they have worked well i found the key is being leval and lubed i lube everything every fall just lightly
