Small Cars ONLY!

I hope this isn't a repost. It's a little long but kind of fascinating to watch. Apparently the guy ignored the "Small Cars ONLY" road signs. He tore several things off the roof and his awning in a narrow tunnel, then missed the turn. Eeeeek.

Yep agreed with Palehorse89, really sad, just as bad as the guy dragging his pickup truck behind his MH while the truck is in park, even after being told about it.

I've not seen this one before but a lesson learned. When signs are posted I recommend obeying what they say. Sorry lesson to learn but I guess they couldn't read or just didn't want to believe the signs that were posted.

This guy left a few items that were on the side on his camper inside this tunnel on Iron Mountain Rd. near Mt. Rushmore. Some signs can't be ignored.

Or his insurance company adjuster.
S.D. state highway 87(I think) in that area, is a narrow twisty road, about right in the middle is a tunnel that is plainly marked(signs were 4'X8' plywood) at each end of that stretch of highway " narrow tunnel, height 8'"(or something very similar). We were driving the pickup Northbound, got to the tunnel and traffic was backed up about 1/4 mile, eventually got through the tunnel to see two DP motorhomes W/towed on the other side-Southbound. No place to turn around for at least a mile behind them, backed up traffic about 1/2 mile behind them. I've always wondered how that turned out.

That's the one. Iron Mountain Rd....I don't know what people are thinking...your right about the size limit signs, they're everywhere.

Sarah, she was more 'screaming' than saying. She could be heard until they went around the first curve, and out of sight. With all the witnesses, they didn't even stop to check the damage. IIRC, this tunnel was first ...and still had another one to endure, YIKES! I wonder...

Anyway, I think there are three such tunnels although one of them might be on the Needles Hwy...can't remember. We drove both the Needles and Iron Mt in both directions. That's when we realized that you can see Mt. Rushmore as you drive thru all three tunnels. Very scenic drive best serve up in a toad. Don't miss 'em if in the area.

I imagine they were humiliated and couldn't wait to get the heck outta there!! (Not to mention the traffic held up in both directions on that narrow road.)

Pay attention ,it's a no brainer. I was driving through Az. into Ca.a year ago and was approaching a RR bridge. It didn't look right and slowed down. On the top of the bridge was a small sign warning of low clearance about ten feet. No way was my 30' class A going thru that. I stopped and got out of there. If your driving something like that you must pay attention. Stupid people do stupid things.
