Small RV AC topper Solar panel
So, I have a 2002 Bounder 33R. On top of the front AC cover is a small (12"x12") PV panel that I am assuming is used to maintain the coach, or the chassis batteries. My son removed the panel yesterday when he was on the roof, as it is apparent that the panel has started separating.
The panel says it was made by BP Solarec and is a model RVP-5LV. I have not been able to find ANYTHING about the panel on the internet. I cannot see this doing anything more than maintain the charge on the batteries, as I believe it is probably a 5W unit.
Is there any rhyme or reason to these chargers? Do I need to find a specific replacement, even thought I can't find any info, other than what is on the back of the unit? The panel is mounted to a grate that is mounted to the top of the AC using the AC cover screws. All that holds the panel to the grate are bendable tabs on each side and some double-sided sticky tape....
Can I replace with a Harbor Freight/Tractor Supply/Wally World small trickle charger maintainer panel and just plug into the 2-wire connector?
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks
Larry
