Sofa not bolted down
Should the sofa be attached to the floor. Mine just sits there, if in an accident it could fly around and cause mayhem.

If you think it should be attached, just screw it to the floor with a couple of appropriately sized sheet rock screws. FWIW mine wasn't screwed to the floor and neither are the two recliners we replaced it with.

Hmm..every rig I've ever had has had the couch attached to the floor. I'd secure it, but my chairs have always been loose.

If it came in the RV when new it should have been anchored to the floor. Did you buy the rig new or used?

Its a 2003 Newmar Kountry Star that I just bought and don't know if the couch is original. . Yes the table and chairs are also loose. In the event of the worst thing happening all the loose stuff will fly around, small stuff you might survive but a wooden table or sofa ????
That said I have pulled trailers and had three RVs for over twenty years with no accidents so I guess I am just a a worry wort.

When I replaced my sleeper sofa with a dual recliner, the sofa was bolted to the floor. In the floor was "T" nuts that did not extrude through the bottom of the slide.
Replace sleeper sofa with recliner loveseat – 1999 Southwind 35S
I made a couple small brackets and bolted the new recliners to the existing floor "T" nuts.
I was also thinking about using some nylon straps to secure the recliners to the floor.
Maybe poke around and see if there are a couple "T" nuts in the floor, but weren't used.

In my fifth wheel the only furniture that is secured to the floor is the dining table.

Newbie here so take it for what it’s worth, but if it was a in trailer that no people or pets would ride in while in motion, I wouldn’t worry about it. In a motor RV where loose projectiles could hit someone, I would probably secure it.

Looks to me like they removed the original fold out bed and put that couch in there to replace it.

Can't speak for all coaches but our jackknife sofa bed was bolted down and had 3 seat belts for passenger use. The replacement double recliner is not currently bolted down and the belts are removed (never any additional passengers).

In a MH where passengers are sitting, I would exlect that the funiture would be bastened so in the event of a sudden stop those heavy pieces wouldn't try to push anything in front of then through the windshield. In a 5er, most furniture is loose since there are not supposed to be riders while traveling.
If the MH furniture is in a slide - maybe the mfr decided it was safe unfastened, but I sure would, even if it took some hpmemade brackets . Just think if you were inlucky enough to roll it and the fling several hunderd pound sofas or Steelcase chairs bouncing around. Not pretty.

Ours was also not bolted down (it is very heavy) and it usually only moved a little and was easy to reposition. However, when we were on an Alaska trip, we encountered frost heaves on good pavement with a posted high speed limit (Grand Prairie) that moved our sofa around so much that it punched on of the blind spindles through the wall (it was an easy repair). We slowed down immediately and drove way below the speed limit because the heaves were constant and close together. After that, we screwed the sofa to the floor. Ours is not a sofa bed but a sofa with storage underneath where the bed part would normally be.

The sofa is attached to the floor by screws through the back floor bar and front bar, never had mine move with them done correctly.
