Solar Charging, when does it kick in?

I have an Epever control unit. What is the voltage that the solar begins to charge. One green lights always indicate that the cells are receiving sunlight but the other indicator always shows batteries are full. Thanks in advance.

Turn on a vent fan. That should drop the voltage enough to cause the current to flow in. If it doesn't, then there is a problem somewhere.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not familiar enough with solar to answer your question. Noticed that you are kinda new and wanted to say hello! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

No. Also inverter off. I would think batteries would be charging in sunlight when less than 13.5 or so.

What system do you have? Do you have a good controller? Yes if volts are less than 13 things should be putting volts back in batteries if they are in good sun light. Float charge should be right around 13.5 volts and holding. Your controller should have 3 stages of charge, bulk, absorb and float. The first 2 should charge up around 14.8 volts for set time to bring things up to charge. A lot depends on solar panel output and other things in your system.

I also have a small solar panel and the green charging light on panel is on when we have it covered for the winter. Question how this light can be showing charging when the panel is covered.
