I here about a lot of flooding around Punta Gorda and North Ft Myers area but cannot find out exactly where. Anyone know, or know how to find out? We have a lot at Paradise Park, and was wondering if that area has had any flooding. Would appreciate any information.

Only flooding is momentary. Once rain stops the water disappears within hours to a few days. We live in Port charlotte near the Myakka river. You see water standing in ditches by the interstate but nothing to stop any traffic. Call the Camp ground and ask them about your site. safe travels... ed

The weather stations in florida pride them selves on creating storms and hurricanes. Local weather on WINK TV is designated "Storm Central"
When it storms 1000 miles out in the Atlantic the tell us to get ready for a bad one. All of this assists property owners in preparing for higher home insurance costs, higher gas prices and helps the tourists select another warm climate to visit.
The NHC in Atlanta is up to H in naming storms and not one has been anywhere near Florida nor caused any concern except for the weather people to reach there quota.
Florida has had a very good rainy summer that keeps the fires to a miniumum, the grass and flowers flourishing. Some strreets have flooded but as stated above within hours it has dissipated.

Well, that's good news - what I wanted to hear. I had heard that roads were flooded and that some residents were stranded without water. Rumors seem to get inflated. Thanks for putting my mind to ease.
