Spiders?

While getting our motorhome ready for it's maiden voyage I was shocked with the amount of spiders, spider sacs and spider webs everywhere. They was even on my air horns. How do you control this. I understand that most poisons will not kill them unless they are sprayed directly due to their long legs.

Subscribed. I hate spiders.

I saw something related to gasoline and matches...

We use the Bengal Roach Spray in the MH and the S&B. We just spray it around all the walls, under furniture, etc. It is clear, does not leave any visible residue, and is very effective on roaches and spiders. We try to spray about every 3 months to keep them under control. It's not instant, but kills them where they hide.

Spiders are predators, eating other insects. If there is a lot of food for them around, you are going to see a lot of webs and hunting spiders. They are so numerous in nature you cannot really control them.

Inside, around the bays, etc,, a control spray like Bengal works reasonably well. Mostly it works on spiders by killing off their food supply, so they move to greener pastures.

What worries me the most about the spiders are the very poisonous ones. I have seen black widows several times when I removed my tire cover. The brown recluse ones killed a good friend of mine. I had another friend get bite by one and his bite was very bad for a while.

Discovered an interesting insect repellent last year , "food grade dimetris earth" . It is the same stuff, green houses & garden centers spray on plants.
Way it works is like the insect walking on razor blades, and just cuts itself apart. Or leaves.

Hedge Apples and a loud radio left on all the time keeps spiders away -- according to my elders.

I guess spiders don't like Willies Roadhouse...

I use diatomaceous earth throughout our S&B as well as the MH, it is food safe so is safe around the cats and other critters. I keep it in squeeze bottles so that I can get it into corners and cracks, it is very effective.

I will get some of this when we get back from our trip. What type of squeeze bottles did you use? I was thinking of the plastic mustard/ketchup ones from Walmart may work.

I get a bunch of spiders under the 5vr in the garage... Working 60+ hrs a week doesn't leave me the time I would like to get out there... Since they are "outside" the rv, I spray them with a spider killer... Bug Be Gone I think is what we have now. Kills on contact, but as said you have to "contact" them.... (Don't inhale it !!!!)

I have heard that peppermint oil works for spiders and mice!
