Spotted - Uhaul truck towing a disabled Class C with a tow rope!

At Home Depot this weekend, I observed two ladies towing a 26 foot mid-80's Class C RV (disabled) with a U-haul truck and a yellow tow rope. (one driving each). It appeared to be their method of moving and likely a statement on the current economy. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to stop/provide assistance. I can only imagine what it was like to steer the rig and apply brakes with no vacuum booster to support the Class C and temperatures outdoors that guaranteed fogged windows. They were headed towards traffic.

Wouldn't take many times renting a truck to pay for fixing the RV, especially one-way rentals.

On many truck type vehicles there is an alternate way to boost the brakes.

That said. Tow rope tows are legal in many (if not all) states.. I do have the Michigan law on them on the hard drive.. Basically it says both towed and towing drivers must be licensed and that's all.

I'd applaud them. The old saying "Ya have to do what Ya have to do" to get the problem solved.

I doubt they were going far.
