Stainless steel decorative wheel covers

How the heck do you get the front ones off? I'm trying to install my TPMS and I need to get it off. Are they like a hub cap and you just pry them off? I've been trying to do that until I decided I was applying to much force and didn't want to damage them.

Don't know what kind of covers you have,but mine are Versa-Liners and have a lug nut with a mark on the side that have to be removed.there should be 2 per wheel

With out knowing what rig/year you have it is a shot in the dark but on our Class A you have to remove all the lug nuts first as they clamp a trim ring that holds the cover in place.

Does the hubcap have what looks like molded in lug nuts? If so, look carefully at the nuts. Some may have stamped ring indentions that will indicate that they will turn and releasing the cap. If not, the hubcap probably will just pry off to expose the wheel lug nuts. Careful, they probably bend easily. Using a wide bladed screw drive or hub cap puller might help. The guys at the tire shops have a nifty pair of pliers they use to pull off the lug nut caps. I improvised my own set by taking a pair of vice grips and adding some self adhesive rubber washer to the teeth. Voila, a nice pair of pliers to pull off the caps without scratching them and no prying with screwdrivers et al.
