We had a leak in our slide out and the ceiling is carpeted I have tried to get the stains out but no luck !! Any ideas?

Sarah C. Welcome to irv2. 
Go to Find just above you and type in "remove stains" you will find many answers. I have use a good carpet cleaner its worked very well. Just test in a cabinet to see how much to use. Make sure you find your leak or its all for not.  "007"

Two Things have worked for us. They were Spray and Wash, which is used to remove stains on clothes before washing. The other was Resolve Carpet Stain Remover.
However, we once had a HUGE problem caused by bad antennae installation, and the dealer covered the "fix". We took the RV to a business that cleaned up buildings after fires and floods. They cleaned the whole ceiling for $25. Looked like new. Good luck!

We had a stain from a ceiling leak. When we took the rig to TS to have it repaired, they cleaned the ceiling. They gave me the recipe for the cleaning solution they use.
1/4 C Bleach
1/4 C Vinegar
1/4 C Club Soda
1 C Water
Mix together in a spray bottle. Spray the stain and let dry. Do not saturate! It could cause the glue to let go. If the first treatment does not get all the stain, repeat. The "carpet" they use for the ceiling is not hurt by bleach.

please be aware that this makes chlorine gas!!...highly toxic but i found it to be effective against the stains. it took a few hours to breathe normal again

I've had good luck with this product. The stain just vanishes. Again, don't "soak" the ceiling too much or the glue comes loose.

We just used a sprayer bottle wit a 1 to 4 ratio of bleach and water, worked good for us.

We just had an orientaion with the dealer for our 1999 Chieftain. The salesman suggested using a mild bleach and water solution for cleaning stains off the ceiling. We thought this sounded a little scary, but he has years of experience selling Winnebago products. It is great to see what the other suggestions are posted. We live in the land of 10,000 mosquitos (MN.), so all I can picture is these nasty critters getting squished on the ceiling! Will have to figure out a different method instead swatting them.

Do you use a vacuum with a hose? If so, use the vacuum to "suck 'em" dead! It works!

What exactly is the ceiling and along the slides made of? It's smooth and spongy. Some of the trim feels like felt. After 4 months on the road, we need cleaning bad.

1/3 bleach to 2/3 water in a spray bottle. I swear by it. Cover everything you don't want bleached, spray it on heavily while holding a rag to catch the drips. Let it sit for a little while then rub. You may have to do it twice but it works like a charm. Then rinse it down with plain water. We've had some horrible stains and it's taken them completely out.
