I have been with State Farm for over 40+ years, have had a few claims over the years and have never had an issue, nor have we had any type of price increases. Our current MH has been the same price to insure over the last 3 years with no increases. Our MH is insured at replacement cost, and all the cargo is covered at replacement cost.
I also question why was it totaled for a water leak. And the second question is why do you think when they give you a price they will pay to total it then you should be able to add back in all the amenities you mentioned, like the fridge, stove/oven, TV's ect. They are all included in any Nada estimate and would have been part of the payoff package.

Read your policy carefully to see what it actually says, not what you think it should say. It may be that your insurance wasn't specifically for an RV, thus the furnishings and such are not covered. If that's the case, you may have cause for an "errors & omissions" compliant against the agent who wrote it, presuming you identified it as a recreational vehicle to him/her.
I've heard of a few other cases where somebody had bargain-basement insurance premiums, only to find out they had very little coverage.

The NADA guidebooks are prepared by the National Automobile Dealer Association in Kansas City. I carried one in my shirt pocket almost every day of my 36 year career in the car business. Their RV guidebook is used throughout the finance and insurance industries not because it's accurate evaluation of RV prices--but because it's all they've got.
The NADA has figured out the first year's depreciation on RV's vs. original cost. Then their printed books go down by a set percentage month after month, year after year. There is no national chain of RV auctions to document prices on. The NADA can easily track automobile prices through posted prices at dealerships and auctions.
My State Farm agent made it no secret that I could get better coverage for the price going to an insurance company that specialized in RV insurance--and I have Progressive stated value insurance. Progressive also has a specialized RV adjuster that only deals with RVs.
The State Farm adjuster doesn't want you to be an unhappy policyholder. Autos are probably what he's trained for, and rebuilding RV's and cars have no commonalities. Auto body shops charge $40 base labor hour where RV's charge $110 per real labor hour.
If you're unhappy with State Farm, go over the adjuster's head and get management involved. Ask'em to go out and find you another unit like yours, and have them buy it directly.

Getting a public adjuster would be the worst thing you can do. They take a cut (anywhere between 25-33%) of the settlement.
First, I would talk to State Farm's claims manager. If that doesn't work, then contact the state insurance commissioner.
Also, read the policy provisions pertaining to disputes. Is there a provision where both sides obtain an appraiser to appraise your RV and they, in turn, get together to select an umpire for arbitration?

Thanks everyone for all the info I finally got them to pay within reason and I got to keep my camper I think they figured out I wasn't going to give up it will be fixed by this weekend and hopefully we can spend the rest of the season in it hope to step up to a class A next year i can honestly say I do not recommend State Farm ins.to anyone again thanks...........

Seems you came out way ahead...State Farm paid a significant portion of the value you placed on the loss and then let you retain the title to the salvaged total that you are placing back in service. You don't even have to deal with a salvage title. I agree, State Farm has long been famous in the auto insurance industry for lousy
claim service I am not sure they deserve to be bad mouthed in this case.

So did State Farm 'total' it and pay you off
OR
Did State Farm and you settle on a amount for damages
DO you have a 'salvage title' ??

I was hit, in my toad, by a State Farm policy holder. They were terrible to deal with! My claim wasn't major, but they drug their feet, excuse after excuse. They cost themselves an extra 20% over what they could have settled for just by being so hard to deal with.

I really don't know how you can say such a thing. Every insurance company has good employees, and every insurance has marginal employees.
I've had very good experience with State Farm employees. Yes, their rates are higher than most insurance companies, but you've also got an agent that can go to bat with you in case you're dissatisfied with anyone's service.
I have switched to Allstate on two houses and two cars. While their reputation for claims service is not tops in the industry, my local Allstate adjuster is considered the best adjuster of any brand in this area.

Guess people just dont understand the insurance industry. SF is one of the largest in the country. They sell a product thru dependent agents. Rates are based on a lot of factors. Losses in a state is one factor. You more than likely bought your coverage based on cost not coverage. So, who is to blame? I guess I would have to say you! You bought a certain policy. You could have bought more insurance, but did not. Its not the insurance companies fault YOU did not buy higher coverage. We all buy insurance based on cost taking a chance that when an accident occurs we will have enough dollars in our pockets to cover deductables etc.

Just a quick comment. I've had SF since 1974. Backed into a snow bank once. They paid no problem. Had a U-bolt brake on a 5th wheel, $5k damages. They paid. Sucked up rocks into my Sea-Doo, They paid. Currently had a fire in an apartment in our apt building. $110K in damages. They paid, and they are still paying for loss of income. So if the claim is clean, I have never had a problem with quick response and no hassle payment.

Generally only when we will only be gone for a long time . . . . Yes, I know, the house can flood in a few hours with just one break, but we all have to make our own risk management decisions.
That said, we replace our washing machine water hoses every 5 years, and also have the neat Popular Mechanics fittings on hoses that will shut off if the water flow exceeds a certain flow rate (like when a hose breaks). You must turn off the water and loosen the fittings to bleed the pressure off and then re-tighten before the water will flow again. We bought these after the neighbors house across the street had their hose break sometime between leaving for work and getting back home that evening . . . $60k plus in repairs! We've also had the cold water hose break on the washing machine while we were in the next room. Heard the water, shut it off after maybe 3 to 5 gallons, still quite a mess!
