No property taxes on RV in Louisiana and license cost $25.00 yr. State income tax is max 6%, but Governor is proposing abolishing state income tax.

No tax on vehicles in Pa. but that is no good reason to want to live here. They really stick it to us on real estate taxes. My property taxes are over $10,000 per year.

No we don't have quite a house. It is no shack but it is certainly no McMansion either. We only have 15 acres and that is all in Clean and Green. The problem is we are in Berks County and Brandywine school district. The school collects one of the highest per student taxes and consistently is rated as one of the worst schools (education wise) in the state.
The taxes are so bad here that it is almost impossible to sell anything.

Here in Arizona, a great state by the way. But the taxes really suck. It is going to cost me $4500 in Nov for lic and reg on my RV. That is why I am looking at SD when I retire in July. Only a few hundred $$ in SD for the same Coach. No Brainer.

Hey! I got two for the price of one. How's he doing?

when it is time for my renewal I'll bring it up. I don't need to "beat" the system. When I received my two for the price of one I had no idea and specifically when I asked why I had to pay full price for the third one the clerk stated that only 2 could be registered at the lower amount. It was a mistake on their part, but what is the old saying, "Ignorance is no excuse."

Well, not exactly. That's what the news folks would have you believe when they were trying to get it passed thru the Ga. Legislature.

"No ad valorem" only applies if you've recently bought (or do in the future) a vehicle (RV, car, etc.). However, you do have to pay a higher original tag fee (I think it's 6% or somewhere around there) at the time, plus you how have to pay sales tax even if you buy from an individual. Any cars, rvs, etc that you owned prior to the new law being passed, you still have to pay ad valorem tax on them as always.

As usual, the State is going to come out ahead with the new law .... otherwise they wouldn't have passed it. If you trade vehicles regularly, 6% up front for your tag is gonna add up real fast.

Pennsylvania has no property tax on vehicles. Car registration is $36.00, Trucks based on GVW, SUV is considered a car. Motorhome $81.00 per year but you can buy it on a monthly basis. If you don't use your motorhome all year round, you can buy registration for $6.75 per month for when you do use it. State income tax is 3.08% and is not collected on pension income. If you choose to live north of I-80 your real estate tax is reasonable. Below I-80, not so much. 6% sales tax on everything except clothes and unprepared food.
