I'd remove the toilet, fill the tank w/ water and watch for the stick as it fills. The stick should float unless it was iron wood. Gloves are optional.

To avoid the problem in the first place, using your hand depress the flush lever while sitting allowing the waste to slide right into the black tank.

There’s just as much possibility it’s in the pipes maybe the OP could clear that up for us.
I just got internet. We were boondocking the last 3 nights. We just got to Lewiston Idaho, having breakfast, across the street from harbor freight, and a home depot. I'll post later today. I'm hoping it didn't make it past the elbow

Well if it wasn't for the fact that I dropped the stick, I would say I'm a GENIUS. The day this happened we were just leaving Pines RV park on HWY. 6 in Idaho. We drove around the national park on HWY 6, we went to Moose Creek campground just outside of Bovill Idaho. 4 days 3 nights all I could think about that STICK. Today we drove to Home depot in Lewiston Idaho. That's where I bought this kit. Then we went and got a site across the river in Clarkston Washington across the bridge on the snake river. Set up camp, went to Costco and resupplied the rig. So in the basement I took my new sawsall and cut the pipe between the too elbows, my hand wouldn't fit so my barbeque tongs served a new purpose. Man I feel better.
Oh and the DW didn't fall for the slender hands line. Attachment 218372Click image for larger version

Love your solution! That was a bigger stick than I envisioned. Your solution should be made into a 'Sticky' on the top of the page for future reference!

You mean I’m not the only idiot to do this?
You have no idea how much I was praying it was in that elbow.

Your welcome, I’m sure you know I was joking about the “genius “ I should have said I was very lucky.

Wouldn't your wife just allow you to buy a new Sawsall? Quite a lot of trouble to go through just to justify a needed tool!

Oh, and please tell us that you budgeted enough to buy a NEW set of BBQ tongs . . .

Keep the stick and just attach a lanyard.....problem solved and a new tool.

Good thing you got it out.….the last resort might have been an arborist!
