Stolen motorhome (awning out) on police dashcam

Ok, I know it could have been serious, but this was on our local news tonight. Woman steals motorhome without unhooking the sewer hose or bringing in the awning, all caught on police dashcam.

RV thief takes hitch hiker on wild ride

Everyone was ok, but oh my! I have to admit I am still laughing at the awning and sewer hose going down the road...

I almost always left the keys in the ignition. My thought was who would steal our motor home especially with all the hook ups on and maybe the awning out.
I will no longer do that. Guess you just never know.

I can not watch the video just now, In fact odds are rather good I won't be able to watch it till winter.

However are you saying the woman got in the motor home while on police dash cam video? I mean.. Yes, I have heard of auto thieves that dumb.. In fact I had to make a bunch of phone calls about at least one of 'em.

Lodging
Tow truck
The owner of the purse he was carrying (And as it turned out the police officers who arrived at her apartment, while I was talking to her, to take the report on the theft of the purse), I mean he stole that car in full view of TWO fully uniformed Michigan State Troopers who were, at the time, just getting into their FULLY MARKED patrol car.

Yes, you do not have to be a genius to steal a car.. But these folks.. Well, they kind of set the standard don't they. (For STUPID).

The poor hitchhiker and his dog! He was begging for her to let them out! Glad they were all right after it was over!

I bet he rummaged through the fridge for a beer after that ride. Dog was probably wanting to do it again.

As my brother, a now retired deputy, used to say about crooks, "in general, they aren't the sharpest crayons in the box".

They did say it was stolen from a trailer park. Not a campground or RV resort. Not exactly the kind of places known for the model citizens living there.
