Stolen RV
Hi Everyone,
Recently had our 73' Chrysler Superior stolen from a "gated and secured lot" in Aurora, CO. Was hoping some of you could point us in the right direction to get the word out to the RV'ing community. Already logged a police report and unfortunately the storage facility is refusing to release video or cooperate with police. It's not the highest end RV but this motorhome is sure special to us. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,

Sounds like a really helpful storage place. Maybe they just say they have it to charge more but don't really. Hit all the RV forums, may help.

also send the info to chuck@rvtravel.com for inclusion in his weekly newsletter. your insurance company may be helpful in prying the video (if it exists) from the storage lot. or consult an atty and file a lawsuit to get it.

Pictures, description, license plate number and VIN would be helpful.
Not likely they would come this far but you never know.
Sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter to anyone here what the value is. It's yours, you want it back unharmed and the people who stole it from you prosecuted. Anything we can do to help is offered up.
BTW, welcome to the forum. Sorry it had to be for this reason. Please keep us informed.
Lynn
The pictures hadn't loaded when I began typing. That is a NICE looking RV. I can see why you want it back.

Looks to me like someone needed body parts. May be why it was stolen.

That's a very unique Motorhome. Let's hope someone spots it soon and calls the police. Sorry for your loss.

Why would (and how could) a police department be refused surveillance video of a crime that took place on their premises. Seems that might cause the storage facility more problems than giving the PD a copy of the video, (if it actually exists). They could be drawn into a lawsuit that suggests that A.) they or an employee were somehow involved; B.) that they are attracting customers, (and charging), based on a service ('Premises under 24hr Video Surveillance'), that they do not offer.

I agree with CaptBill,
Get an attorney and have him call or write them a letter stating they have x amount of time to provide the videos or you will post an article in the local paper stating they are refusing to release security videos.
What does your contract say? Ours said police would be provided with the video as would we. Inside job.
Keep a record of days and time and who you talked to and what is said. You will need it.
Go to FaceBook with pictures and info on the rig, the storage company, and do it quick. Social Media is your best way to get the info out there. Watch Craigslist in case someone is trying to sell it or it's parts.
Like was said, license #, VIN #, anything you can give to help try to find it.
Best of luck with it. Call local CG's (campgrounds) and see if they have any rigs like that there right now. Go out a local further out and keep checking. Unfortunately you are going to have to do this work because the police won't.

I've posted a picture of your rig on my FB page. I have a lot of friends that RV around the country and family living in CO. Hope your rig can be found.
I would sue the storage facility though.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please post the name and address of the storage facility so anyone who may be thinking of storing their Motorhome will look elsewhere.

A unique motorhome like that probably found its way into the mountains and some free spirit (free meaning your stuff for free) is living in it. I'd love to help, plates, make model year vin, distinctive markings, stickers, etc would help.
