How sad. Around here the most thefts occur on the holiday weekends. Seems the cops are so busy with other stuff, and neighbors also busy, so perfect time for the evil thief.

Insurance adjuster/claims officer/risk manager for over 20 years.

Yes, there are some bad eggs in my line of work - individuals and companies - but they are by FAR the exception to the rule.

Your best defense is a good offense. Have you read your policy cover to cover and know what you're entitled to under the terms & conditions of your contract? You'd be amazed how many people haven't and then get upset when they find out that their policy only covers a silver standard when they want platinum. The first time to read your contract is NOT when you sustain a loss.

It is typical for insurance policies to be written for lawyers, not the general public.

After an accident or loss, it is also typical for an insurance company to find the reason within the legal mumbo-jumbo (again, wording that is not to be understood by the general public) to deny a claim, then turn around and blame the client for not taking the time to read the policy.

My wife worked in insurance claims and it was normal policy to deny a claim first, then wait for a client to fight the denied claim. Remember, they make money for denying a claim, not by paying out claims. Their bonus is tied this, and the more claims that get denied, a promotion is in their future. If their claims payouts are too high, bye bye.

Good luck Chris on getting an equitable settlement. Having spent also 40 years in law enforcement and crimnal justice, I don't hold out much hope of you getting your motor home or your vette back, at least not in any condition that you would want to keep them.

I am sorry, but this could NOT be further from the truth.

I also wish it were not the truth.., Unfortunately, it is too true to be believed by those that are honest and trust their insurance agents to sell them a policy that protects them, only to find out later that it didn't cover "that loss".

My guess would be some one that knew you were not around friend, someone who worked at the rv park etc. I would guess both we're locked and had to be broken into to be able to drive off.Had to be someone in the know and someone parked close by had to see something .It just don't add up that NO ONE saw or heard anything
