My storage tube is also too small to accept the hose. I bought a small plastic container with a secure lid to store my nasty hose. I use gloves, and keep end caps on the hose when not in use. I'm just glad their is always water available for flushing the hose. It's all cool, I'm just glad the hoses aren't transparent, haha.

I goofed up in my post above. We had a 2008 Georgie Boy (same as Coachmen) Class A and it had the movable pipe underneath that the hose was stored in and a sanitary compartment. That pipe was 4" dia and I used these fittings and they fit through the pipe.

I was originally thinking that it was our previous Class C that had the movable pipe (wrong).

Never really gave its much thought as it is a necessary part of the life style. The only time I really was troubled with it was on one occasion while staying in east Texas for nearly a year, we had to use and maintain well over a hundred feet of EZ Coupler hoses to reach the septic tank. Thank goodness we were about 3-4 feet higher than the SIL's house, but due to the weather. I do admit that I keep and eye out for newer and better products and listen for new idea here on the forum.

Wanted to use Rhino but their end connectors wouldn't fit in my storage space.

I don't mind it at all, gives me a chance to sanitize everything. Knowing it's all, including the tanks, clean after use is sort of satisfying.

I guess I don't mind it much. I put an 8 foot long, 6 inch wide PVC tube under the trailer with a screw on cap. Fits 30 feet of hose plus connector with no issue. Makes it somewhat easy.

I have a RubberMaid tub with 3 sections of Rhinoflex. They just wrap around inside the tub and then I put the lid on. When I dump I take out the length(s) needed. A nice clean package stored in a bay.

Don't have an real issues but I wish my coach manufacturer had provided a bit more space for it. It exasperates me that something is fundamental to RVing is not well-provided for in the design of the coach. One would think that a high-end coach would have the hose storage thing elegantly handled, but sewer and other hose storage is largely an afterthought.

Winnebago does better on this sort of thing than most others.

I always thought end caps were twice the dirty work. I attach the two ends together and toss it into a plastic tub with the other sewer stuff.

I am like most of you, do not mind the black tank duty, have a tub to store the "black" items in, and a separate place for all the "clean/sanitary" items.

HOWEVER, to answer the OP's question "what's the worst thing you hate", well, it has to be facing the wife at the entry door AFTER performing the black tank duty, and going thru her "decontamination" process before being allowed access back into the coach. . . . . Oh well, she was an emergency room RN for over 25 years, so clean is a good thing!

I agree on the high end coaches-it should be an elegant design for the sewer and I agree that Winnebago does it a bit better.

Funny thing though, I had a 2008 Georgie Boy MH (made by Coachmen) that had the best arrangement. It had a 4" PVC pipe on a swivel that came out from the bottom of the sanitary bay to beneath the coach. The sewer hose was always attached to the sewer outlet and stayed inside of the 4" PVC pipe.

To dump was simple, pull the 4" PVC pipe around, take off the cap (connected to a keeper cable so as not to lose it) pull out the sewer hose and connect to the dump. Putting the sewer hose away was just a matter of pushing the hose back up into the PVC pipe and putting the cap on and swiveling the PVC pipe back into travel position.

I often wondered why other MH manufacturers didn't see that and copy it. In fact I think a do-it-yourselfer could do it.

Ha! Sort of like I must be the only RV'er who uses paper towels!

I was really squeamish originally. In fact, our Jayco has never seen a #2. When we bought the Outlaw and wanted to boondock, I knew I had to 'man up' and leave 'the shovel' at home. I make sure we have a pretty full gray tank before dumping. Between that and the black tank flush, things seem fine. I don't carry lysol and disinfectants, although I make sure to wash up well after finishing up. Sometimes a little fluid comes out of the hose when putting it away but it's gray water. I try to avoid it, but some will get on my hands. Wash up and move on.
