What voltage do you have your AGS set to start at? You might have it set too low so the batteries are getting over-drained.

Ditto on programming or setting manually the low voltage level for the AGS.

Now that you have it running you need to use a voltmeter to check both banks of batteries to be sure your battery combiner system is working properly. They should be the same voltage.

An alternator is designed to output it's full output at 6000 RPMs. Normally that is at the cruising RPM of the engine.

Say what? Have you tried shifting into another gear? Had a 6-71 up to 3200 rpms in school years ago and that was enough to get me to leave the building. I think I must be missing something here.

Yup, pulley ratio. 10 inch pulley turning 5 inch pulley. Twice the speed.

Teacher missed that lesson?

Good day

No sir that would require an engine to be turning three thousand RPMs which I am thinking would exceed the maximum allowable speed for any motorhome. Of course I am basing this off of the RPMs I am getting at sixty-five MPH which is about 2150.

It was an example.

Most alternator are setup, with around 2 1/2 or 3 to 1 ratios.

Enjoy
