What is your experience with the latest version and do you have and recommend the GPS unit also?

I do not have the 07 MS S&T, but I do have the 06 with the MS GPS that stickes to my windshield. It works as good as my Garmin GPS IV when hooked up to the Lap Top. I now leave the Garmin in my car to find my way back when we go galavanting around and lose our way home. I like the MS better than the Delorme I guess because I'm more familiar with it and know how to work it. s/Toby

I purchased the 2007 S&T program with GPS and find it very useful.
I made the purchase just before leaving Florida for California. Before leaving I programed my route - mostly I-10 - added preplanned campground locations, Flying J locations and even some rest stops.
My wife, who really is my on board navigator had the laptop in front of her all the way. We both found the voice instructions helpful. But, she really got a kick out of reading off altitude changes!
At any given moment 8 or more sattelites reporting our position and altitude.
From California (Barstow) I programmed in a 32 day trip ending at our present location, Long Island, NY.
My only dissapointment is that the software does not allow me to program my travel day by the number of miles. It only can program the number of hours.
I like the program otherwise, especially the online download capabilities.

Lew,
What are the online download capabilities that you mention? I like S and T a lot, although I don't use the GPS feature anymore, just for planning purposes
Thanks!

Hi Mike, we have the 2007 with the GPS unit and it works well for us. We had the 2006 version with the GPS receiver but the GPS unit went belly up, so went ahead and bought the 2007 version.

There are 2 buttons at the top of the program window that allow you to search for info on "Windows Live." I've had some difficulty using this feature, though, I remember using it successfully when I first got the program.
You must be connected to the Web for this feature to work. I have a Verizon Air Card. We're always connected going down the road.
