Has anyone had any experience with Microsoft Streets and Trips versus Trailer Life Campground Navigator for travel planning?

I am not very good when it comes to complicated programs and have been experimenting with S&T but just received an offer for the improved 2011 version of CN and am wondering if it is easier to use.

TIA for your thoughts.

Hi Hoghead,
I've used the Trailer Life software for years. I have never used Streets & Trips. Software is very personal. What is easy for one person can be a nightmare for the next person. It just depends on how the software and you "bond" with each other.

Good point Gary. I've got S&Trips, and have gotten very familiar with it. I tried another mapping program that was supposed to be more "user friendly" and just couldn't get the hang of it, so I stuck with the S&Trips.

Bonding is a wonderful thing.

I use both...well actually three (MS S&T, DeLorme Rd. Atlas and Campgrd Nav). They all have their purposes, strengths and weaknesses. The one I use consistently for trip planning is Campground Navigator. Has all the strengths plus the built in Trailer Life Campground Directory. The new version even has a simplified "radius" planning tool; I've been doing radius planning for years, but, had to take several steps to do it, now, the new program is supposed to have a radius tool - neat. With the built in RV options settings, it is the only program I use for trip planning.

I have both S&T and Trailer Life. I like S&T best because I can import POI Files(Points of Interest) and each one can have a different indicator on my map. For example, one indicator would be Good Sam's CG's, another would be PassPortAmerica CG's, still another would be Wal-marts, and then one that shows all RV parks for a state, and one that shows Low Underpass Clearances. I can plot out my route for the day or multiple days and see what CG's, Wal-marts or any other place that I am interested in are near my route. If you are only interested in CG's that are in Trailer Life, then it is okay. I like to use PassPortAmerica when possible and S&T makes it very easy to see where they are on my route.

Point of Interest Files that I have loaded into S&T:
All RV parks for states I am traveling through in near future.
Pass Port America
Good Sam's
Wal-mart & Sam's
Camping World
Places to visit (Has some really cool places to visit that you may not know about)
The Best things I have ever Ate (We have really found some great food with this one)
Low Underpass Clearances
National Parks with RV parks
Half-price Book Stores
Escapee 50% Parks
Casino's in USA
Macaroni Grill

I've used both Microsoft Street Maps and Trailer Life Dircetory. I find that Trailer Life has way more information for us RVer's. Route Planning, Campgrounds, Attractions, Fuel Stations, etc...
