My DeLorme SWM map overlay shows no SWM off I-85 in the immediate Charlotte area. I-85 goes through downtown, so that is not an area you usually find Wal-Marts.

I do see one north of Charlotte at Exit 60 (Kannapolis) that looks like it is easy to get to and another to the south at Exit 26. The one at Exit 26 looks farther from the Interstate and a little harder to get to.

When you do get to a Wal-Mart, may I suggest you pick a Wal-Mart Edition of the Rand-McNally Road Atlas. They are only $5 or $6 and show all WM, SWM, and Sam's Club locations. These are a lot cheaper than some of the third-party WM directories and the maps are often times very helpful, too. Look for the directories either in automotive accessories of in the book/magazine section.

I don't a Walmart road atlas, but you might stop at any Walmart and get the 2008 road atlas. In the back it will have a list of all Walmart's and Sam's with highway and exit numbers.

That's what I mean about the Wal-Mart Edition of the Road Atlas. If I had checked mine instead of just relying on my DeLorme, I would have found the ones Tom lists.

I have an old WalMart atlas but my atlas of choice is the FMCA atlas. The FMCA road atlas shows WalMarts on the maps, not in a listing at the front and back of the atlas.

But I don't use an atlas. I have an Excel file containing all Walmarts and Sams Clubs. It's current to May 2008.

It's in .csv format. Comma Separated Values (CSV) files can be openned in Excel. They can also be directly imported into MS Streets & Trips and DeLorme Street Atlas. I also load them into my TomTom after a quick conversion to ov@ file format.

I've place the WalMart.csv file online. This file will load in SA or S&T very fast because it plots by Lon and Lat, rather than by street address.
