Surge Protector/EMS use during storage?

We are soon to be new owners of a Grand Design trailer and now have a storage location lined up that offers a trickle charge. My question is should we use our EMS on it?

We may be able to secure it somewhat to the pole but not entirely sure on that. So should we plan on:
1) Use the trickle charge WITH the EMS secured as well as possible
2) Use the trickle charge WITHOUT the EMS.
or, kind of a half way solution
3) Only bother with the trickle charge every couple of weeks if we don't take it out sooner.

Thanks for any thoughts.

If it was me and I didn't have a built-in EMS, I would turn off all the circuit breakers except for the one that serves your converter or inverter so that the battery receives a charge. I'm assuming you have a three stage converter.

If it's a trickle charger connected direct to the battery then I don't see the need for a surge protector. JMHO

Why not plug your power cable into the EMS then using an adapter run a good extension cord from it to the power source. Your EMS will be safe locked in the power bay and your RV will be protected from possible energy spikes or lightning surges.
