Tailgating on roof ...
I am still new to the motorhome thing, but i know i can walk on and do repairs if necessary on roof of my rv. My question is: If i am at an event, can i have a few people on roof to watch the event ? I know we have to be careful .. Lol. But is the roof made to support that ? I have a 2002 damon intruder rv. Thanks !

I wouldn't. Too easy for someone to fall off, or to step on a skylight, or step on a fan cover or just put too much weight on the roof and cause damage. In short, too many things to go wrong (and just that much worse if there is any alcohol involved).

Not a good idea for a variety of reasons. One they could fall off, two the roof was not meant as a party platform. They do make motor homes where being on the roof is a planned event, so look for one of them.

There are companies that install viewing platforms if the RV has sufficient structure to support. If this is something that would add value to your coach for your enjoyment it may be an option.

Very few RVs are made for that much weight and you'd have a liability issue for falls or injury. I surely wouldn't do it.

I see people sitting on the roof all the time at races.
In the second picture, you can see platforms installed on the roof of the RVs in the background.

I think you're looking for trouble in many different ways as discussed above. They're not made for this type of use.

Nor does it make it a bad move either. The OP asked a question and he's got lots of responses from people who THINK it's a bad idea, but no one has related a bad first hand experience.
I see hundreds of people on their roof at every race. If it was such a bad idea, wouldn't there be lots of problems and the word would get around to not do it?
If I'm not mistaken, the roof of my coach is two 3/4" pieces of plywood laminated together. That and the steel cage construction makes it a pretty stout platform.

You Sir, are an optimist....... If in doubt, slide down and ask a couple RV dealers and repairers if it's a smart idea.... aside from the safety issues. (Here hold my beer.... watch this.... oops!!!)
RV roofs are not made for that kind of weight. Here in the Hill Country we had a bad-@$$ hail storm last Spring. The lots are FULL of coaches, trailers and fivers with damaged roofs. Some with holes punched through the 'double layer' roofing. Yes.... the hail stones were big as grapefruit and continued to wreck HAVOC inside the coach as they ricocheted about the cabin.
Can't see how Bubba's big, fat, foot would be much different......

Good luck and to each his own (if you are young and coordinated.... go fer it!)
I am very, VERY careful when I am on my roof as 13' up seems like 50 to 100' normally
and if drinking ?!?! whew  just the curvature of the roof is threatening !
Now a nice platform that makes it flat and less obstructions to trip over might be good in that
it could keep some of the heat off your roof, but what about ac and plumbing venting, antenna functions, etc...
once you get up there think about people that are not coordinated - nor careful and tripping on something like the solar panels, skylights...
