Tampa Super Show Worst of New Design

And the winner for bad design is - TWO big name models had really big nice frigs. Problem was you need a step stool to get anything on top shelf! More than one mfg. squeezed big bed into small space so maybe 6-8 inches between bed and wall. One dine setup on $500,000 plus coach could not be used by someone with say 40 inch waist! Other than that, nice show with lots of models to look at. We had seven bath and half models we wanted to see and found three. Typical opening day, dealer reps not sure where inventory was, lots of units had no power yet, literature in short supply or could not be found and lots of lines. But we enjoyed it. Were good walking shoes and have fun.

Actually I didn't think the crowd was anywhere near what it was a year ago. Your right though on the reps, some don't know a thing about what they're talking about and the lack of literature is dissapointing. With the free second day ticket you can always go back and find the units you didn't see on your first visit. I may just stagger back my self and take another look see around the place.

Did the Cleveland (Ohio) show last weekend...One thing that kind of stuck out...All these so called reps, many of them were in a corner playing with their phones...sitting in the RV's (trailers) dinette head down looking at their phones...would glance up for a second and back to the phone... they seemed bored...I asked a few how long they have worked at the company they are representing...I would get 3 months, since summer, year and a half.....one guy 2 weeks.

#2 this relates to RV travel trailers..So many had just a tiny little 52" couch.

Crowds should be much bigger Saturday. Lots of Florida residents come to Tampa after work Friday and stay for the weekend.

When you get to Entegra's booth, Scott Hamilton should be there ask for him if you can. Very sharp on Entegras and can answer any questions you have. Glad you are coming down to our state. And thank you for all of your great tax advise, I have enjoyed it.

Thanks Chuck. The folks on here have been great to help me with questions and this is one way I can help others with my contribution.

Scott Hamilton is the Lazy Day's sales rep I think. Is that correct? I've met a number of the Entegra folks when I visited the factory twice. Great down to earth people in all respects. I need to tire kick on the Newmars also because I'm not sure that Entegra is going to have something that will work for me when we are ready to make the move.

Just guessing: Better, more experienced salesman assigned for the larger crowds?

More brochures available?

If you look at the first post, it had nothing at all to do with sales folks. People who posted after that were just adding in their $.02. Not sure why you'd think each had to be congruent.

ctpres,
I agree with you on the design problems, I saw bedroom drawers that you couldn't fully open due to the bed being there, let alone put something in or take it out. You could tell that the person doing the design had never seen an RV let alone used one. And this didn't seem to be a manufacturer or price specific thing, but an overall industry problem.

Indeed! I think many of the reps at shows are "part timers."

We were blown away by the crowds thurs. The traffic was insane and the vender bldg was packed. Were we at the same show?????? We looked at entegras, tiffins and winnies. Couldnt ask for better sales reps. This thread has me stumped.
Went back today and still packed . Huge crowd at the Lazy Days area for tiffins as Bob Tiffin was there ; everything in sight had sold signs.
