So now that the Tampa RV show is over.
What did you buy at the show?

We got a Star Light 1000 RV motion sensor light.
It is now installed and works just like they said it would.

Two water filter cartridges, and two slices of pizza.

Roger & Eileen:

G'morning. Say, we didn't get to the SuperShow this year but have been there a few times in the past. I'm kind of interested in that Security Motion Light you mentioned and was wondering if it's something that replaces your "porch light" or does it need to be wired and mounted separately??

Steve

I got what they call a "Smart Light 1000" made by Star Lights Inc.
It is a motion sensing light that remains off until it senses someone coming
within range. You can check on the light by just doing a search for smart light 1000. Or go to: http://www.starlightsinc.com Prices vary widely, so make sure you shop around. ($52 at the show)
On our motor home the porch light is located mid-coach and is much larger than the Smart Light. So It was not a direct replacement for the light that came with the coach. If you have a small rectangle light near your entrance door, it would be a direct replacement.
So I installed it over the window just forward of the entrance door. Had to do some measuring and bore some holes, but it worked out. I obtained power from a lamp below the cabinet that is above that same window on the inside. That particular light is controlled by a switch at the entrance steps and is the only light on that circut. At least near as I can tell.
Very easy to get to the wiring and over-all it was an easy install. I covered the wiring inside the cabinet with a strip from Lowes made for that purpose. Looks like it came from the factory that way.
Now when we return to the coach and it is dark out the light will come on automatically as we walk up to the door.

MCD shades.

Got that motion light last year only to find it does not fit due to awning support. Used the bulb though, and it made a big difference in the effectiveness of the porch light. I will eventual mount the motion light over the service bay.

Three $6 beers which actuaally cost $11 each when you factor in the parking and admission.

That was last week. I needed to get my receipts to remember!
1. New passenger windshield
2. Bra for the front of the coach
3. GS CG Directory
4. Bracelets for me and the wife to help keep us healthy. Yea, they actually do work. I got one and the wife got two. I guess she needs more help than I do.
5. My annual supply of Stanadyne Performance Formula (diesel fuel additive). Like in #4, this really does work and improves MPG.
6. More bad for you, but tastes great food and drink than I care to remember.

I wanted to buy more.
1. Filter Kit for the Cummins. Nobody was selling engine filters!
2. New Newmar Mountain Aire - We thought about it too long. Went over on Saturday afternoon to work a deal and the coach was already sold! I wasn't sure if I was relieved or sad.

Look at it this way Gary, that Mountain Aire just wasn't meant to be for you. Maybe a King Aire is your destiny.

Hi Lori,
The wife has not seen a KADB that she likes. From a decor view we are both simple and functional folks. The KADB is a very nice looking coach. The interior has yet to appeal to us. It is a bit overwhelming.

Fleetwood Bounder 35K, would have been cheaper to boondock at Walmart instead of going to the show.
