Tarp or no Tarp
How many people cover there MH for storage in winter months ? What type of tarp ?

I'm with Wizard, the tarp will cause damage as it moves in the wind and also may trap moisture . A breathable cover would be a better choice if you feel you want it covered.

either spend the money for a real Rv cover or don't cover it at all. those blue tarps are a POS, don't waste your time or money. The cover I use on my motorhome is 7 years old, a tarp won't last a year.

Most people do not cover the MH with anything. Of the fifteen MH's in my storage location I am the only one covered. Theirs are dirty mine is not. I am in a minority.
I use an ADCO brand designer series from CW. It will set you back about $400. (maybe that is why).
But it will fit, it will breath, it will allow easy access. No matter what you use it will chafe the corners of the MH and it will rip. I rub the chafing out and repair the rips and get at least five years out of a cover.
Personally I would not use a tarp. Right tool for the job sort of thinking.

I don't put a tarp over my house so why put one over my movable house?Used to cover the boat to keep it from filling with snow.Now I start the motor and go where it does not snow.

As you would expect, the answer is, some will some will not! My experience is there is an argument for both that is good. The covers (don't recomend a tarp) can chafe. Especially at the corners. There are ways to tie it down that minimalizes's that but it is nearly impossible to stop altogether. If it snows or rains in your part of the world and you want to go for a mid winter trip it maybe nearly impossible to remove the cover if there is ice or snow frozen on top.
On the other hand a cover will reduce water freezing and thawing in the seams causing damage. It will keep it cleaner. It will reduce any damage done by the sun.
In side storage is best!

South Jersey! may be you should be thinking about pontoons! All kidding aside best of luck with the frankenstorm Sandy. I have freinds and relitives all over NJ including Toms River. I wish everyone well and hope they head the warnings.
