Tecma Macerator Toilet - Red light on most of time

All my tanks have erroneous tank readings, but after 12 years I have come to terms with the issues except one.

The red light on the flush button is always mostly on even though I just emptied the black tank. Level screen shows always full. Does anyone know a work around so I don't have to hold the flush button for 6+ seconds to flush when I know the black tank is NOT full?

I have the same problem. My fresh water and grey water indicators work fine but my black one reads 1/3 or 1/2 full even after I have just flushed and the light on the wall next to the toilet stays red all the time. I will be watching this thread.

Tecma toilet

I have the same unit and when this occurs, I find that recycling the power resets the toilet. Press the "battery cut out" switch twice does a reset. Works for me!

"OldHiker".....I'm not sure how the Tecma works, but here's what we do with the Dometic. On Newmars, with the Dometic units, they use a float in the black tank (at the top) that tells the red light to turn on and cancel flushing. It's not part of the pads on the side of the tank that tells levels, it's a separate entity. When my red light stayed on, I cleaned that float and solved the issue. On mine, the float affected both of my toilets and turned both off.

Before that, I added a switch to my half bath toilet as the black tank would get full at an inopportune time, like midnight, restricting flushing.. Again, on the Dometic units, there was a small box, about the size of a deck of cards. The box is the toilet controller. One of the wires running to that box, told the toilet when to stop flushing. Just on my half bath toilet, I cut that wire and added a switch. I could now eliminate the red light and continue flushing. I did a test and found I could get 5 additional flushes before the tank was truly full. I eventually left that red light turned off and knew to dump the tanks when the rear bath red light came on.
