Wow, that's only about 10 miles from my office. It looks like a big tag axle DP. It sure didn't hold together well, so sad for the driver, he was the same age as me.

Wow, that thing just seemed to collapse on itself. Prayers and thoughts go out to the wife and family.

It disintegrated. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. God Bless family and loved ones. Hopefully a wake up call for all to be careful as possible

Sad to hear and see, makes you wonder what happened. All tires look to be intact.

The news article quoted the wife as saying that he was driving erratically just prior to the crash. Could have been a heart attack or seizure. You never know when your time will come. I hope she has some support in this tragedy.

Very Tragic.
I also hope the wife and family have a support system. Feel so bad for the driver and what he must have experienced.
The traffic ahead of him could have also caused an issue. I've been on the 17SB, 101, 202 & 303 a lot as they kept adding west side freeways. They are busy.

The damage really doesn't surprise me. These vehicles are very heavy, and they have to save weight everywhere that they can. If they built the walls so that they would withstand a roll over and support that heavy chassis and a roll action, they wouldn't have weight capacity for anything else to be inside. The roll action is very effective at breaking the walls loose. From there it all just falls off. We really hope to never put ours on its side or worse.
