Texas HAIL storm damage

Two days ago storms with large hail moved accross north east Texas. Yesterday I drove the eight miles to check our trailer for any damage. No damage to the windows or sides of the trailer. The roof was clear of any damage as well.....But.... two of the crank up vent covers were hit with large hail stones and each cover had a hole. The covers are rivited to the hinge.
The question I have is have any of you been able to purchase the cover only and if so, how did you proceed in replacing the cover.

You can buy the cover only. You have to drill out the rivets holding the cover to the hatch, then pop rivet the replacement cover using the existing holes.

Go to Amazon.com: rv roof vent cover for a sample of covers. It may be a good time to consider a MaxAir vent cover in addition to the vent cover.

all you have to do is remove the inside trim,open the cover about half way.take the screen off and the crank handle.undo the 2 screws holding the crank assembly off the frame.slide the opener arm off the cover,(should slide towards the hinge to the bigger opening on the cover.next go up on the roof. the hinge looks like a hurricane hinge.bend the small tabs at the end of the hinge and slide it it off from the side.slide the new cover in and do the opposite of taking it apart.i do these all the time at the shop.it takes about 5 min per vent.really simple.take one off and take it to your rv supplier and they should be able to hook you up with new ones.

Most of the hinges slide out to the side...no rivets to drill. You will need to remove the inside screen and disconnect the pivot lever arm.

Thank so much for the info. I've never really looked at the hinge very close. Hope the hinge on our unit is such that a new cover can be installed w/o drilling the rivets. I'll check it tomorrow.
