I am curious if there are any luxury homebase communities in Texas. I wouldn't rule out the Valley, but somewhere in central Texas would be nice. Anybody know of anything???

Forgive me if I don't understand what may be obvious to others, but by "homebase communities" are you referring to those communities which have what I would call an "RV port?" For example, a small home unit with an adjacent spot for a motorhome?

I'm aware of such a community near Lake Whitney, TX, which is northwest of Waco about 30 miles. Take a look here:

Is this the type of community you are asking about?

Tho only other one I am aware of is near Brenham, TX. I've not seen it, but it was advertised in the Winnebago club magazine recently. Contact is Hilmer Schmidt, (979) 836-7672. I called for some info and talked to a very nice lady - she sent me some plans. Seems she and her husband are trying to start such a community.

You might be interested in Fort Clark
Springs at Bracketville, Texas.

I have been there and it is a nice homebase
community.
