Texas RV inspection- are mud flaps required?
I need help finding the tx code section where rvs with dual wheels are exempt or if the distance to the rear of the coach is a minimum of xx. I dont have access to a computer and trying to get my rv state inspection.

That's an interesting question. The Texas transportation code requires them, but they are not on the inspection checklist.
Horn
Windshield wipers
Mirror
Steering
Seat belts
Brake system (parking – beginning with 1960 models)
Tires
Wheel assembly
Exhaust system
Exhaust emission system (beginning with 1968 models)
Beam indicator (beginning with 1948 models)
Tail lamps (2); (1) if 1959 model or earlier
Stop lamps (2); (1) if 1959 model or earlier
License plate lamp (1)
Rear red reflectors (2)
Turn signal lamps (beginning with 1960 models)
Head lamps (2)
Motor, serial, or vehicle identification number
All models – inspect for window tinting or coating
Gas caps on vehicles 2-24 model years old.
I guess the check all these, but I've never seen them overtly check exhaust, steering, or tint.

never saw them inspect gas caps, steering, brakes, tires, tint, seat belts.
what on earth is wheel assembly?
I just had my coach "inspected" and none of the above were looked at

FWIW, Indiana has no mud flap regulation - for any vehicle. Many dump trucks have signage stating to "stay back 300/500 feet", ya, like that's gonna happen.

I wonder
If the brush type material mounted to the rear bumper, the width of the coach, would qualify?

Most inspections, if not all, simply depends on who is doing the inspection. I've have Barney Fife's crawl all over and look at every inch, but that's rare and was on a TV. I have yet to have any inspector of a TT look at any single thing on it. The last one never left the building. he wrote up the inspection from his pc using my insurance paper. I've had one say I'm too old to get under there and look and never left his stool. Handed me the sticker to put on it myself. (back when they did stickers)

I checked with a friend of mine who lives in Beaumont. He says the only acceptable mudflaps in Texas are these:

Yeah, the inspection is hit or miss nowadays. Right after I got out of high school I went to work for the local Ford dealership in the parts department. I was the gofer who delivered parts to shops around town. Our service manager lost his inspectors privileges when he got caught not inspecting new cars before he put the sticker on them. The state used to send people around to observe the inspectors, but I don't think they do that now.

At my local inspection station I had one young lady check the lights and horn. The guys for 5 other years get me out in 5 min....., if I can drive my newer 41' diesel RV in, it passes.....

Considering the junk I see on the road that passed inspection I can't imagine what it takes to fail

Wait, wasn't the question answered in the second post ? Motorhomes
(assume his question was about motorhome since I've never seen a trailer with dual rear wheels) in Texas are exempt from needing flaps...
I jumped on this one since I removed my rear vanity flap - it had been sweeping up too much road debris onto the jeep toad
